In just one day, you can learn a local Large Language Model AI.
Training led by Danny Wind (Delphi Specialist)
and Michael van Canneyt (FreePascal & Lazarus Team)
During this day, we will install and deploy a self-hosted open source AI platform, Open Web UI, on your laptop to connect to a local AI LLM, CodeLlama.
We’ll utilize this to investigate the principles and techniques used in an AI LLM.
By the end of the day, you’ll be able to deploy, maintain, expand, and use an AI LLM for yourself.
All of these subjects are addressed, including practice resources.
♦ Open Web UI
♦ CodeLlama LLM
♦ Delphi and Lazarus
♦ LLM REST endpoints
♦ Tokenisation
♦ Vectors
♦ Vector Database
♦ Chunking
♦ Retrieval-augmented Generation (RAG)
♦ Agents
Requirements
To participate in the workshop, you will need a laptop with
at least 16 GB of internal memory
at least 64 GB of extra space on an SSD
For the Delphi or Lazarus part,
you will need the most recent version of one of the following:
Delphi 12.3
Lazarus 4.0
Required prior knowledge
some knowledge of Delphi or Lazarus Pascal and Python
some knowledge of your OS (MacOS or Windows)
some knowledge of REST endpoints
Surely an NPU or GPU is needed to run an artificial intelligence LLM?
Running an LLM can benefit from an NPU or GPU indeed, provided it has enough memory to hold the whole model.
Training can also be followed, though, on a sufficiently fast CPU with fast and plenty of memory, and in an emergency there is one NUC on which a local LLM runs that you may also use.
